My dogs, my rescues - my home - all gone up in flames!!!
I can't beleive I am starting the New Year with such sadness and such a broken heart! My poor babies, I can't stop crying... This was the best day of my life with my 11 new puppies born that morning - until that evening - it turned into my worst nightmare! Although I lost everything - it doesn't matter - it's only stuff but my dogs... that hurt, still hurts and I have no clue how to get over it! I am so sorry to announce this - didn't even know how, but it has to be done... I will try to check e-mails as best as possible and messages!! Luckily the SPCA dogs that were supposed to arrive this Saturday will be held for NARC for at least another week. We still have the mobile home although there is no hydro - we are trying to get that rectified this week so NARC at least can continue on! The four remaining - Kappa - Chachi - Parker and Casey have been fostered out to friends and family until I find a home of my own for 3-4 months...

Mimi, We are so so so sad to hear of this tragic event. I can't even begin to imagine what it feels like but knowing how strong you are and how important NARC is to you and your team, you'll get through this. Hang in there and keep your chin up. We're thinking of you.

ReplyDeletePost what you need and we will see what we can do to help... Sorry for your loss
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I are interested in adopting Kappa, we left a message on your phone listed on the website, please give us a call, and our condolences on the tragedy that has happened.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I am so very very sorry to hear about what you've been through the past couple of days. I want to help you in any way I can. I don't know if you're able to access your voicemail, I"ve left my number on it. Give me a call if you can think of anything I can do to help you out.

I saw your web page today and cried. I have not listened to the news in days and did not hear about this before. I check your page almost daily and tell all my friends about the dogs available for adoption. I currently have three of my own and I can't adopt any more for the time being. I will be sending some money to help you get back on your feet. As much as I can afford anyway. I wish I could do more. If you need people to rebuild, please post that information on your web site, because I'll try to get as many people to help as possible.
ReplyDeleteHow devastating! My deepest sympathies on the loss of your dogs, cat and bunnies as well as your home.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had good insurance so that you can rebuild and start over.
Hi
ReplyDeleteWe were heart broken to hear the sad story on the news. Please let us know if you need foster homes.
Best of wishes
We were heartbroken to hear the news. Please let us know if you need foster homes
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle
ReplyDeleteMy name is Eric and I did leave you a message on your voicemail saying that we can open our doors to any help that you need. Unfortunatly we cant give you any monatary help because my wife is a stay at home mom and we are only on one income, but we are a family and pet home. We just lost our first family rotti to cancer in november and weve since then open our house to a dissabled rotti puppy just to tell you how important dogs and cats our to us. After hearing of the tragique news on the radio I then called my wife Andrea to see if we can help. She agreed and then called the wonderfull people and the colonial vet to help. I do want to invite you to take up on our offer for any foster care for dogs and cats needing a warm place to stay. We have A 6year old and 4 year old daughters named Anisia and Alexis that would love this learnig experience in helping out. Also our 4 monthold rotti Mia would love to have a playmate for a while. And to top it off King eyor our cat would gladly exept any other animal to rule in his kingdom.
Hope to here from you soon and may I say good luck in rebuilding such a fantastic organisation!!!

What can be said that already hasn't? My heart goes out to you Michelle, praying for you at this terrible time. As a fellow animal lover and adopter of unwanted/abused animals, may I extend my sympathy to you on all your losses, may you find comfort in knowing what happiness your furry loved ones secured being with you and placed by you. You will come thru this even if it doesn't feel like it today or even tomorrow, know that the animals that perished know they were loved - finally and I believe God will now find them their forever homes with Him. Have you ever seen the poem Over the Rainbow?? It gave us such comfort when we lost our 14.5 year old rescued/abused border collie to cancer in June (2008). Just to let you know, our plan if we ever get over losing her is to come and visit NARC to see if anyone furry would love to be spoilt and loved forever in our home with us!! You're a good person with a heart of gold, I believe NARC will continue on and cannot lose with you at the helm. Be strong my friend, it'll get better - it has to for the animal's who still need you....

Michelle,
ReplyDeleteWe are absolutely heart-broken to hear about the news of your loss(es). Take your time to grieve, but also remember just how many animals you have helped so far (along with people, as we really don't know what we'd do without our two little munchkins that were saved by you). Apparently we are never given more than we can handle... and with time, community support and the willingness to continue on with your very important path in life, things WILL get better!
Sending you all of our love and strength,
Angela, Ryan, Winston & Suki

Hi Michelle. My name is Jane Kelly and I work with Ginette. I had a sleepless night last night reading your story and I so wanted to reach out and help you. I can only imagine the heartache that you are going through right now. I posted a notice on the City of Ottawa server informing Ottawa employees of your tragedy. I have instructed people to either contact myself or Ginette if they'd like to somehow contribute to help you get back on your feet. And please know in your heart that you gave those animals the best life that they had even known. I think you are an amazing woman Michelle and I thank you for opening up your heart and your home to those precious creatures.
